When we arrive in Amsterdam, 9 of us will hop the first plane out to Paris around 9:30 and the rest are booked on the 10:45 flight. We will rendez-vous at the airport in Paris and get on our bus to Normandy - finally. We will visit some d-day sites on the way to Granville, where will will spend the night, then visit Mont Saint Michel on Wednesday before heading to Sucy to meet up with our host families.
The kids keep asking the chaperones if we are stressed. And we have to answer honestly that, although we are definitely perturbed at the rocky start to our venture that has been so long in the planning, we are not really feeling undue stress due to the fact that the kids themselves are taking everything well in stride. No complaining, moaning, or "are we there yet?" And also thanks to all of you families - we have had nothing but expressions of support and offers of assistance from you since this whole thing started. THANK YOU.
For your entertainment, here are some photos of our adventures so far...
Waiting in the lobby of the Airport Hilton for room assignments on Sunday night.
At breakfast at the hotel -- they look like such seasoned business travelers!
And then there are the late risers....
