Thursday - Louvre, Notre Dame, Latin Quarter

Now we are in business.  We had our first excursion to Paris today, meeting up at the train station in Sucy at 7:45 for the ride into Paris.  We had a 1.5 hour tour of the Louvre - just the main masterpieces - because you could spent a month there and not see everything.  Many students would have liked more time - so you will have to bring them back!

Then, the parents of one of our host students invited all 50 of us (including French chaperones) to their restaurant on rue Saint Honore for lunch - on them.  Their son and 2 other boys from the high school were our waiters.  The restaurant was in a traditional old Parisian building with lots of character - what a treat.  Finally, we spent our afternoon visiting Notre Dame and the Latin Quarter and soaking in Paris before taking the train back to Sucy and meeting up with host families for the evening.
