Finally, a good weather day! Significantly warmer than yesterday and there was a strange yellow thing making light and warmth against a blue background overhead :-) This morning, we metro'd to Invalides where we spent time in a special multi-media exhibition on the career of Charles Degaulle, followed by a visit to the tomb of Napoleon (the first) - 7 coffins one inside the next in a huge sort of sarcophagus.
After walking across the fanciest bridge in Paris (le Pont Alexandre III), we made our way to the Marais, a beautiful and pleasant neighborhood (with a long history as a hub for Jewish business/families - for those who have read Sarah's Key). Had our picnic in the zplace des Vosges, one of my favorite spots in Paris. Then we broke into 2 groups and took turns touring the Victor Hugo house/museum - while one group was in the museum, the other group shopped the nice, little boutiques in the neighborhood. A quick stop at the Place de la Bastille on our way back to the metro/train where we headed back to Sucy.
The students are now in their host families where they are prepring themselves for the party/dance being put on at the school just for the 80 students of the exchange. Thus, the teachers/chaperones are likewise spending a few minutes "recharging our batteries" to go watch them have fun, i.e. chaperone the dance.
Tomorrow morning, the Sucy Receation Department is organizing a giant Zumba session for everyone before they go off for the rest of the day with their hosts.

What a blast -- walking shopping, picnicking, a dance and a town sponsored Zumba class. Could the selectmen meet our French students on their next visit? Can't wait to see what Hancie has in her shopping bag!
