Saturday and Sunday

Friday night

Teacher-supervised dance/party at the school.  Students brought food, snacked, danced, and conversed.  Seems like they had fun - you'll have to ask them.

Saturday morning

Giant Zumba class at the Lycée from 10-12.  You might not think it but the students, even the boys (most of them), had a great time.  The regular Zumba teacher ran the class for her regular students (adults) and the hs gym class (sophomores) and the exchange's 80 students - minus the ones that a) slept in or b) already had tix for EuroDisney.  Photos and videos to follow.

Saturday afternoon

The students were with their host families/each other.  Some played soccer, some went shopping, lots went to Paris.

Sunday

We "rendez-vous"ed at 6am at the school for a bus ride to Rouen where we saw the port, the old city, the Cathedral (painted 28 times by Monet), and the spot where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake.  After a lunch near the old astrological clock, we boarded the bus to the Caen Peace Memorial museum, a truly moving exhibition of the *European* history of conflict and resolution based on the notion thatt everyone suffered and they are committed tonot reliving it.

Now at a sailing school on the Normandy coast to spend the nightin preparation for a day at the always magnificant and impessive Mont Saint Michel.

I must reiterate :  this group of kids (American and French) are AWESOME!  The easiest group we have ever had to manage - so punctual and able take no for answer with a smile.  We love them!

Sounds like a great weekend! Can't wait to see and hear more from everyone on your return. We've got more snow and really cold / windy weather back here in good old Cohasset... still have power though :) Thanks again for keeping us posted on the trip - The Durants

We read these posts with happy hearts. We are so pleased our students are proudly and politely representing us in France. I know the historical experiences will have a lasting impression. Hancie's parents
