After a good night's sleep, everyone reported to school this morning for a welcome breakfast of croissants and pain au chocolat and coffee and hot chocolate. Then, each student sampled 3 different courses in a variety of different subjects, followed by lunch in the school cafeteria. So many things are similar and yet different.
After lunch, we took public transportation (bus, train) into Paris and went to the top of the Montparnasse Tower (59 floors) for a panoramic view of the city featuring the most famous monument at all - La Tour Eiffel. Everyone super-excited.
Last stop for the day, a short metro ride and a view of the Eiffel Tower up close and personal. Then, a less than pleasant commute back to Sucy via 2 metros and the train. It was just the transfer in the busiest station Paris at the peak of rush hour that was rather stressful because it was incredibibly crowded and the only way to get on the train was to push or be pushed. However, everyone was well-briefed on what to do and where to go and all made it to our destination safe and sound where the host families awaited to sweep them off to dinner.
Everyone happy and healthy and enthusiastic. Off to Versailles tomorrow.
